AudioLeaks: On what issues will the government committee prepare its report?
The first meeting of the High Power Committee headed by Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has been convened on Wednesday on the issue of audio leaks.
According to the sources of the Ministry of Interior, the meeting on Wednesday may be postponed due to the absence of some members in the country, however, a notification containing the members of the committee and its terms of reference has been issued. Rana Sanaullah is in the committee. Apart from four other ministers, DGISI or representative and DGIB also include technical assistants.According to the notification available with Urdu News, the committee includes Law Minister Nazir Tarar, Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman, Communications Minister Asad Mehmood and IT Minister Aminul Haq. Apart from this, technical experts from PTA, ISI, FIA and NTISB will also join the committee. On what issues will the committee make a report? According to the notification, the committee will investigate the cyber security breach in the Prime Minister's House and submit its report to the Prime Minister. The committee will examine the concerns related to smart phones, tablets, laptops and other devices in the Prime Minister's House and give suggestions regarding improving the cyber security of various government departments including the Prime Minister's House. The committee will review the existing e-safety and cyber security system of the Prime Minister's House and ensure fool-proof security and digital ecosystem for the future. It will make recommendations to ensure cyber security of other regulatory bodies like NADRA, SECP, FBR and State Bank. The Committee shall also have the power to obtain the opinion of any other member or expert for this purpose. It should be noted that in the meeting of the National Security Committee called after the audios of the Prime Minister's House came to the fore in the past few days, it was decided that a high-powered committee would be formed to investigate the matter.
